HFT® TEG-1000, Tungsten Electrode Grinder

Huntingdon Fusion Techniques is a world-class manufacturer of Tungsten Electrode Grinders.
The Tungsten Electrode is one of the most important variables involved in TIG welding. A properly prepared Tungsten Electrode improves arc starting, arc stability and consequently weld quality. Huntingdon Fusion Techniques HFT® have been manufacturing Tungsten Electrode Grinders since the 1980's - this was our state-of-the-art grinder in the 80's (to the right).

TEG-1000 Tungsten Electrode Grinder

Although the basic principles have not changed, the quality has been upgraded.
The direction of grinding is still longitudinal to avoid any circumferential ridges that might cause current skipping and arc instability.

The TEG-1000 Tungsten Electrode Grinder will give repeatable Tungsten Electrode points every time, enabling consistent arc performance and welding results. Sizes 1.0 to 3.2 mm can be ground as standard, with other sizes catered for on request.

Tungsten electrode grinders are convenient, safe and more accurate than other methods of grinding. The newly redesigned TEG-1000 Grinder provides repeatable tungsten electrode points every time. This leads to consistent and repeatable arc performance and welding results.

Sizes: 1.0 mm to 3.2 mm
Accurate electrode grinding will lead to cost savings due to the increased life of properly ground tungsten electrodes and eliminating the need to purchase of preround electrodes.

Ground and polished tungsten electrodes produce identical, repeatable results for automated welding every time. With Manual welding, the shape of the tungsten electrode is just as important - a correctly shaped tip allows the arc to be precisely positioned with none of the preferential arcing experienced when using poorly shaped manually ground tips. For in-field grinding check out the VAG-4 120VAC and battery powered portable grinders, offering the same repeatability, and ease of use.

TIG welding requires Tungsten Electrodes to have perfectly ground and polished tips. HFT®'s TEG-1000 provides these, time after time, to exactly the same size and shape. With Tungsten Electrodes ground and polished, mechanised welding can produce identical results every time. With manual welding, the shape of the Tungsten Electrode is just as important. With a correctly shaped tip, the arc can be precisely positioned with none of the preferential arcing experienced when using poorly shaped manually ground tips.

A special collet accessory (shown in the enlarged photo to the right) allows for shorter electrodes to be held, allowing a complete stick of electrode material to be used. The TEG-1000 provides accurate ground electrodes for hand and Automated welding, time after time, to the same size and shape.
